Our rental fleet consists of both 15’ & 17’ top-of-the-line Grumman Canoes, 12’ Perception Joy Ride Kayaks. Pick the best choice for you or your group today!

Its gentle waters run quietly through beautiful forests, fields and farmlands. Much of the river is accessible only by canoe. Stocked with rainbow and brown trout, it’s also a favorite with fisherman.

The Shuttle

Hassle-Free Returns

Avoid the exhausting paddle back upstream against the river current. Our dedicated downriver shuttle meets you at the designated takeout point and brings you safely back to your vehicle.

We also provide a shuttle service to several drop-off points upstream, and instruction for beginners. Overnight and longer trips are available by arrangement. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff members are happy to help you choose the run that’s right for you.

Everyone at Footes is so friendly. And the experience of canoeing/kayaking along the Ipswich is just plain fun. You don’t have to rent either, if you have your own they will transport it upriver for you for a nominal fee and you can paddle back.

What a delight! Smooth check in process, friendly staff. $1 cold bottles of water and they have a basket of bug spray and sunscreen you can use. $60 for a few hours on the river was just what the doctor ordered. Plus they had a pride flag on the white board inside which just sort of made me feel even more comfortable
